Blooket (Pronunciation: Blue…… Kit), domain name (Blooket.com), is an educational game founded by Ben Stewart and his brother Tom Stewart. Blooket has more than 10 million players per month. It is a browser-based game mode where players need to use browsers with internet access to play the game. Up to now, Blooket is not available as an app, and players must access the game through browsers. Blooket is built using custom code and uses cloud services for hosting the site.

On the frontend, HTML, CSS, and JS are used for coding, and on the backend it uses Node.js. Blooket also uses Ruby, which is a general-purpose object-oriented language originally developed by Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto in Japan.
The web server from which Blooket takes services is Cloudflare, integrated with a Content Delivery Network. That is why the Blooket page loads very fast in every corner of the world.
History
Blooket was created in 2018 by Ben Stewart as a game-based learning platform designed to improve student engagement compared to existing tools at the time. After its launch, the platform continued to grow through regular updates that introduced new game modes, interface improvements, and seasonal events tied to holidays such as Christmas and Halloween. These updates often included limited-time Blooks and special competitions. In January 2025, Blooket expanded its educational tools by partnering with Khan Academy, allowing players to use the Khanmigo AI assistant to help generate questions within the platform.
Game Mechanics
The mechanism of Blooket is simple on the surface but goes much deeper once you start playing the game and enter its own universe. The one rule every mode follows is “question answer.” In every game mode, you need to answer questions, and after that you need to complete a certain task that will increase your rank in the game and give you some rewards. These rewards may be cash, points, coins, or something specific based on the game mode if you are competing with other players in the same game. But if you are playing solo, then the only reward of the game will be given to you.
The more points, coins, or levels you increase while playing any game mode, after ending that game Blooket will give you coins as rewards. You can later use those coins in the Market to open a pack, which will give you different rarity Blooks based on your luck and the algorithm of Blooket. The Blooks are generally square-like avatars in Blooket that come in different rarities. They have certain drop rates. The lower the drop rate, the higher the rarity of the Blook.
One of the main reasons folks play Blooket is for collecting Blooks, which increases their status in Blooket communities. Some players often use hacks for this, resulting in their accounts getting banned.
Tabs
There are a total of 7 tabs in the left sidebar of Blooket. Under them, there are 4 different menus that have their own functions. Now, let’s go through them one by one.
Stats
The Stats page is accessed from the Stats button in the tab list. On this page, you can see your class pass level, Blooks you have used while playing the game, custom Blooks you have designed, and other information.
Following are the things you can see on the Stats page:
- Total coins you have made in your lifetime.
- Total wins you have made in games.
- History of your recent 7 games.
- Total number of correct answers.
- Games played.
- Total cash.
- Top 5s.
- Total gold made in Gold Quest (as of mine, it is 6.1 × 10¹⁷).
- Showdown wins.
- Players defeated.
- Total fish weight (Fishing Frenzy).
- Daily tokens available.
- Time before resetting the daily token limit.
Blooks
The Blooks page is also linked in the tabs. On this page, you can see the total number of Blooks you have according to their packs. You can select whether the collection should show free Blooks or not. At the end of the Blooks page, there is a hidden Blooks section that contains the rarest Blooks you have in your collection. On the top right corner of this page, there is a Blook score board where your Blook score is shown along with the number of different rarity Blooks you have. Different rarity Blooks are differentiated by their rarity symbols. The Blook score also determines your rank.
Market
The Market page is accessed from the Market tab. In the Market, you can buy different packs that are currently available in the game. There are two types of packs: seasonal and permanent. You can see both seasonal packs and permanent packs in Blooket depending on the time you view the page. In the top right corner of the page, there is a coin button where you can check how many total coins you have in your account. Your name and banner are also shown above the coins.
There is another feature called the weekly shop on the Market page, where you can purchase different banners. These banners are displayed behind your name when you are waiting for the host to start the game after you join it.
Discover Sets
Discover Sets is a page in Blooket that contains pre-made sets created by users. These sets are free to use for everyone. The top recommendations are some of the most used and most popular sets in the game. You can also say they are trending at the time you are viewing them. These sets can be used by anyone while playing a game.
Set Creator
Set Creator is a tool in Blooket that helps users build their own customizable sets based on their or their students’ needs. Every player on Blooket has access to create a set. There are multiple features available to improve your set for a better answering experience. You can set your own title, add a featured image for the set, which is the image shown on the front of your set, and write a description. There is also a privacy setting that lets you decide whether your set can be used by everyone through Discover Sets or not. If you turn this setting off, your set will not appear in the Discover Sets option. There are three different methods to create a set. The first method is manual, where you type and save the questions yourself. The second method is importing questions from Quizlet. The third method is importing a CSV file.
My Set
My Set is a page where you can view your own created or saved sets. It displays basic details such as the number of games you have played and an option to host a new game. This is the place from where every new game in Blooket is hosted. There are two options for players when starting a game. The first option is playing solo. The second option is hosting a game. When hosting, you can invite other players to join the game. This can be done through an invitation link or by sharing the game code provided to the host.
