Gimkit Creative is a special mode in Gimkit where players can build their own 2D games. It is a big sandbox editor that lets you design maps, try different ideas, and share them with other people. Development for Creative started in 2021, and it was officially released on May 10, 2023. The creator of Gimkit, Josh Feinsilber, explained that all official 2D game modes in Gimkit were actually made with this tool.
Table of Contents

The best part of Gimkit Creative is that you do not need to know any coding to use it. Anyone can place objects and build maps with simple controls.
Map Styles
When making a new map, players can choose between two different styles. The first option is top-down mode, which is similar to the game Fishtopia. In this style, players can move in all four directions: up, down, left, and right. The second option is platformer mode, which works more like Don’t Look Down. Here, players can move left and right, and they can also jump.
Every player gets three map slots for free. If you subscribe to Gimkit Pro, you can unlock up to ten map slots. Season Ticket holders get even more space with twenty-five map slots. Each map has a memory limit of 100,000, and every object you place uses some of that memory. Some objects take very little, while others can use much more.
Playing Together
Gimkit Creative allows players to enjoy the maps they make with friends. Up to 60 players can join and play on a map at the same time. This feature works for everyone, even if you do not own Gimkit Pro or a Season Ticket. Creative also supports real-time collaboration, which means players can work together while building a map.
Creative Discovery
Once you finish building a map, you can share it with the community through a feature called Creative Discovery. This lets people from around the world play your map. Maps are published in Discovery and stay there forever unless they break the rules or are taken down. To publish a map, you need to spend 1,000 GimBucks, but Season Ticket owners can publish for free.
One important thing to remember is that Creative Discovery is closed during weekdays between 8 AM and 4 PM. During that time, players cannot access Discovery.
Objects in Creative

Gimkit Creative has different objects you can use while designing maps. The first type is called terrain. Terrain is used for building floors and walls, and it is always placed on a grid. In top-down maps, floors take up two memory for each tile, while walls use three memory. In platformer maps, all terrain acts like walls and takes up three memory per tile. Once terrain is placed, it cannot be edited.
Another type of object is called props. Props are mostly decorations, such as furniture, plants, or machines. They can be rotated and even tinted to slightly change their colors. Each prop uses ten memory, and you can place up to five thousand of them in a single map.
The third type is devices. Devices affect how the game works. Some devices can change your inventory by adding or removing items. Others can control teams, players, or even advanced mechanics. Certain devices also allow block coding, which helps make more complex gameplay.
Finally, there are wires. Wires are used to connect devices together. They allow one device to send signals to another, which helps you create special actions in your map. Wires are not visible during gameplay and always cost ten memory no matter how long they are.
Updates and New Features
Since its release, Gimkit Creative has received many updates. Over time, the developers have added new terrains, props, devices, and gadgets. For example, checkpoint devices, dialogue systems, and damage boost devices have been introduced. Many props have also been added, such as medieval decorations, school-themed items, and furniture.
Sometimes, new content is first released for Season Ticket holders. Later, these items are often made available to all players. This gives Season Ticket owners early access but still allows everyone to enjoy the updates in the future.
Planned Future Features
The developers are still working on adding even more features to Gimkit Creative. Planned updates include custom teams, player customization, and new devices such as a password device. Adjustable gravity for platformer maps and health bars for sentries are also on the list of possible future additions. These updates show that Gimkit Creative will continue to grow and give players more freedom when designing maps.
Extra Notes
Alongside the release of Creative, a new Gim named Blueprint was introduced. Blueprint wears a yellow hard hat and a pencil and can be unlocked by completing the Creative tutorial. This makes Blueprint part of the special Creative collection.
By September 25, 2023, over one million maps had already been created in Gimkit Creative. This shows how popular the mode quickly became. The design of Gimkit Creative was also inspired by Fortnite Creative, another game-building platform.
Hasn’t been updated for a long. I am bored by this. If anyone seeing then you can do this.
