Zorblitz (Blooket)

Zorblitz is a game mode in Blooket that is based on a classic brick breaker style. In this game, players control a paddle to bounce a ball and break different types of bricks while also avoiding obstacles like alien attacks and space trash. The game can be played alone or used for homework, where players answer questions to continue playing. Each level becomes harder with faster speed, stronger bricks, and more challenges. Players earn points by breaking bricks, bouncing enemies, and collecting power-ups, while losing lives if they miss the ball or get hit by dangers. There are total six blooks featured in this mode which are Cow, Horse, Sheep, Goat, Chicken and Pig.

Game Mechanism

Zorblitz is a level-based brick breaker game where the player controls a paddle to keep a ball in motion and clear all bricks on the screen. The player moves the paddle left and right using a mouse on desktop or touch controls on mobile. The main goal is to stop the ball from falling while hitting different types of bricks placed above. Some bricks break in one hit, while others need multiple hits. Certain bricks can explode and destroy nearby blocks, while indestructible bricks cannot be broken and must be avoided.

Power-up bricks drop special items that give advantages such as a longer paddle, stronger ball, laser attacks, magnet effect, or extra life. Alien enemies stand on bricks and throw space trash toward the paddle, which reduces points if it hits. When the bricks under aliens are destroyed, they fall, and the player can bounce them on the paddle to earn extra points and break more bricks.

During gameplay, questions appear at intervals, and the ball is held in place while the player answers. The game continues only after a correct answer. A level is completed when all breakable bricks are cleared, and players earn points and a star rating based on performance. If the player loses all lives by dropping the ball, the level ends. Difficulty increases in higher levels with faster gameplay, more obstacles, and additional challenges.

Power Ups

Power ups are special items that appear when the player breaks certain bricks called power-up bricks. When collected, these items give temporary advantages that help the player control the ball, destroy bricks faster, or increase score. Each power up has a different effect, such as increasing paddle size, adding extra lives, shooting lasers, or turning the ball into a stronger form. Most power ups last only for a few seconds, so players need to use them quickly to gain the maximum benefit.

BlasterZorblitzBlaster / LaserLevel 3Allows the paddle to shoot up to 10 laser shots that can break bricks quickly for a short time.

ArrowZorblitzArrowLevel 1Increases the width of the paddle, making it easier to hit the ball for a short time.

FireworkZorblitzFireworkLevel 14Launches fireworks that destroy multiple bricks as they travel across the screen.
MagnetZorblitzMagnetLevel 1Pulls the ball toward the paddle from a greater distance for a short time.
FireballZorblitzFireballLevel 6Turns the ball into a fireball that breaks bricks in one hit and passes through most bricks for a short time.

Bricks

Bricks are the main objects that players must break to complete each level. Different types of bricks appear as the player progresses in game, and each one has a unique behavior or difficulty. Basic bricks take only one hit to break, while stronger bricks like red, blue, and purple require multiple hits.

Some special bricks create challenges, such as indestructible bricks that cannot be broken, moving bricks that change position, and invisible bricks that only appear after being hit. There are also unique bricks like lava bricks that explode, jail bricks that release trapped blooks after several hits, and regeneration bricks that rebuild themselves unless certain conditions are met.

Power-up bricks drop helpful items when hit, and teleportation bricks move the ball between linked points. Smaller versions like mini and tiny bricks are harder to hit due to their size. As levels increase, bricks become more complex and require better timing and accuracy to clear.

NameIntroducedEffect
Moving Indestructible BrickLevel 16This brick moves across the screen while also being impossible to break. It combines the behavior of moving bricks and indestructible bricks, so players must avoid it and play around its position. The fireball power-up cannot pass through this brick, which makes it more difficult compared to normal indestructible bricks.
Lava BrickLevel 4When the ball hits this brick, it explodes instantly and destroys nearby bricks around it. This helps clear multiple bricks at once and can create chain reactions in crowded areas.
Purple BrickLevel 7This is a strong brick that requires five hits to break completely. Each hit weakens it until it is finally destroyed.
Teleportation BrickLevel 27When the ball hits this brick, it instantly teleports to another linked teleportation brick. This can change the direction of the ball and make its movement harder to predict.
Basic BrickLevel 1This is the most common brick and takes only one hit to break. Each hit gives 250 points. Mini and Tiny bricks are smaller versions of this brick and follow the same rules but are harder to hit due to their size.
Indestructible BrickLevel 9This brick cannot be broken by the ball. Players must work around it. If an alien is standing on top of it, the player must hit the top side of the brick to knock the alien off. The fireball power-up can pass through this brick.
Boss BrickLevel 24This brick appears only in Level 24 during the boss fight. It works like a basic brick but gives 1,000 points per hit instead of 250. All bricks in that level are boss bricks.
Moving BrickLevel 13This brick moves either up and down or side to side. It takes one hit to break, but its movement makes it harder to aim and hit.
Red BrickLevel 7This brick requires three hits to break. It becomes weaker with each hit until it is destroyed.
Indestructible BallLevel 25This is a ball-shaped object that cannot be broken, similar to an indestructible brick. It also changes how the ball moves, sometimes slowing it down and making it harder to control. A moving version of this object appears in Level 30.
Blue BrickLevel 7This brick requires four hits to break. Each hit reduces its strength until it is destroyed.
Power-Up BrickLevel 1When this brick is hit, it drops a random power-up item. The player can collect it to gain a temporary advantage.
Invisible BrickLevel 11This brick is not visible at first. When the ball hits it, it becomes visible. After multiple hits, it stays visible permanently. It takes five hits in total to break.
Regeneration BrickLevel 26When this brick is broken, it rebuilds itself quickly by returning to its original position. It can only be fully destroyed if an alien is standing on top of it. When this happens, the brick changes color to show it can be broken.
Jail BrickLevel 5This brick contains a trapped blook inside. It takes five hits to break. The first hit removes the lock, and the next hits remove parts of the cage until the blook is freed.
Mini BrickLevel 25This is a smaller version of the basic brick. It takes one hit to break but is harder to hit because of its size.
Tiny BrickLevel 27This is an even smaller version of the basic brick. It is square-shaped and much harder to aim at, but it still takes one hit to break.

Notes

  • Zorblitz uses AI in gameplay. It is the fifth mode to do this, mainly for the boss in Level 24.
  • Bouncing falling purple and orange aliens on your paddle triggers a doubling point bonus starting at 50 points and peaking at 3,200, allowing you to earn a total of 6,350 points if you keep the alien airborne until it stops.
  • Unlike the purple and orange aliens, the Earth Alien (found in Level 28) can only be bounced once, but it grants a massive 7,000 points for that single hit.
  • While there are no regular aliens to bounce for points in the first boss fight, surviving with extra lives provides a specific bonus.
  • This game mode features Common Blooks only.
  • The boss in Level 24 can hit the ball back using its own paddle.
  • Heart and Diamond Gem are the only power-ups with lasting effects.
  • The Heart power-up can still be lost if the player loses a life.
  • The level shown in the game banner is Level 3.
  • After Phase 3 was released, the game music became longer.
  • There is a bug where collecting two Heart power-ups does not show the middle heart correctly.
  • The purple alien also appeared in the 2023 Spooktober Shop and in Laser Tag mode.
  • Zorblitz was in beta until the 2025 Spooktober update. During beta, aliens threw only one type of trash.
  • This was the last solo game mode to stay in beta before it was removed.
  • The game was briefly removed from Homework mode in early October but returned on October 20.
  • There is a glitch where aliens sometimes float without standing on bricks. Hitting nearby bricks can fix it.
  • Before unlocking Level 24, the icon shows a grey boss head. After unlocking, it turns green.
  • On January 28, 2026, Zorblitz was removed from solo mode and homework, then added back the next day.
  • The removal was likely to add Phase 3 and fix bugs reported by players.
  • The Crystal Machine is the only alien attack that follows the paddle and removes 500 points.
  • Sometimes the level screen shows green triangles instead of levels due to a bug.
  • Only Levels 1, 2, 3, and 24 have a fixed maximum score. Other levels can be farmed for more points.
  • The maximum scores are 128,050 for Level 1, 143,750 for Level 2, 172,900 for Level 3, and 38,250 for Level 24.
  • The maximum scores for Levels 1 to 3 are very hard to achieve.
  • In Level 24, there are no aliens, so extra points only come from remaining lives.
  • Breaking all bricks in Level 24 gives 36,000 points, and the remaining lives add up to 2,250 points.
  • Getting 3 stars in Level 24 requires almost perfect gameplay.
  • Each extra life adds more points, starting from 1,000 and increasing for each additional life.
  • Zorblitz does not have a tutorial. It is the second game mode like this after Busy Bees.
  • The name Zorblitz may be based on classic games like Breakout or other brick breaker games.
