Rainbow Astronaut

The Rainbow Astronaut is a Mystical Blook which is a part of a Space Pack (It is not avilable on it but only a part). It was awarded to the top team in the LUNCH event. Just like other mysticals it can be sold for 100 tokens an it will add a blook score of 75 when you add it to your collection. The team that won the Rainbow Astronaut also received the White Peacock and Tiger Zebra.

This Blook is based on the Red Astronaut but is special because it can change colors. The color changes happen through hue rotation, making it look like a rainbow. The animation is unique: the Red Astronaut shifts gradually from red to other colors. The colours these blook continously change and reverse are: red, blue, green, yellow, Pink and Purple. I have noticed this blook up to 2 minutes and noted that. If you note it closely you will these 5 colour. So, Rainbow Astronaut is the combination of Pink, Blue, Green, Purple And Yellow Astronauts.

Appearance

The Rainbow Astronaut looks like a Red Astronaut at first. What makes it unique is its color-changing effect. The Blook rotates through a gradient of colors, it rotatest up to 5 different colour, which gives it a rainbow appearance.

Trivia

  • The Rainbow Astronaut change the light wave length frequently.

let’s do some Science regarding the change of colour of this blook.

Visible light has wavelengths roughly in this range:

  • Purple: 380–450 nm (nm means nanometer it’s wavelength of the light)
  • Blue: 450–495 nm
  • Green: 495–570 nm
  • Yellow: 570–590 nm
  • Pink: It doesn’t have a single wavelength it’s usually a mix of red (620–750 nm) and some blue light, so it’s more of a perceived color than a single wavelength.

Let’s approximate pink as ~650 nm for calculation.

If an Rainbow Astronaut rotates through these colors—Pink → Blue → Green → Purple → Yellow → Pink the approximate wavelength change is:

  • Max wavelength (Pink) ≈ 650 nm
  • Min wavelength (Purple) ≈ 380 nm

So the continuous wavelength change is roughly:

650 nm − 380 nm = 270 nm

Which means while going from one colour to other Rainbow Astronaut changes it’s light wave length to around 270 nm.

  • There are four Blooks with “Rainbow” in the name: Rainbow Astronaut, Rainbow Narwhal, Rainbow Jellyfish, and Rainbow Panda.
  • Out of these four, only the Rainbow Astronaut is a Mystical Blook. The others are Chromas.
  • Both the Rainbow Astronaut and Rainbow Panda are obtainable Blooks. The others are unreleased.
  • This is the only Blook that changes color every second as part of its animation.
  • It is featured in cafe mode.
